SecureLog is a state-of-the-art suite for Log file management; it was created as an answer to problems introduced by the vast amounts of log files that are generated on a daily basis by modern information systems.
Increasingly strict law dispositions and compliance regulations determine increasing costs, not only in terms of software tools, but also and more significantly in terms of human resources that are devoted to handling such data; SecureLog consents to minimise the impact of such issues, by allowing the cetralisation, storage and analysis of log files in an integrated and automatic manner, thus considerably reducing management costs and guaranteeing integrity, confidentiality and inalterability of the collected data.
The use of encryption algorithms during both data transfer and storage phases allows for an exact and unaltered copy of log files to be maintained for all hosts or monitored devices in a single centralised archive. In addition to considerably simplifying the handling and retrieving of such data, as well as optimising the use of company storage resources, such a solution also allows for an unaltered copy of each log file included in the system to be always available, even when the security of some remote host might be endangered and the corresponding local log files may be altered. This is particularly significant, as log files can allow to later reconstruct events, which in many cases leads to identifying their source. Log files also provide a fully effective proof of what has happened within the system, and can used in case of need as a valid proof in legal litigations.

In addition, such log files can be essential in purely operational contexts, e.g., to prevent or retrace the causes of service interruptions. Early detection of performance degradation of storage devices in a certain host, e.g., due to excessive room temperature or problems with the dedicated storage system, in many cases prevents unexpected and catastrophic service interruptions and allows to undertake instead properly planned restore interventions.
Minimisation of economic and organisational impact originating from the needs to adjust information systems to to new standards and regulation, while simplifying and optimising daily information system management: these are the main objects of the SecureLog Platform.
